Candle Fire Safety Testing - BS EN 15493:2019

This service is for single wick candles up to 250g in net weight.  For larger candles, please contact us.

When ordering this service, please complete and send us back the following information form for each candle you are sending.

Test Procedure: We conduct testing in accordance with BS EN 15493 (2019) to check that your candles comply with this CEN standard as regards fire safety.  Meeting these requirements can help show due diligence in complying with the UK General Product Safety Directive (GPSD) and is often required by retailers.

Requirements:  In order to complete these tests, we require 3 x finished candles. Our address can be found here.  A minimum of one of the candles should be packaged as sold, including any usage instructions/labels.  If packaging is unavailable at the time of testing, you should provide the usage instructions to intend to supply with the candle as a minimum.

Note: If you do not provide usage instructions with the candles, we will not trim the wick during EN 15493 testing.

Test Duration & Report:  For single wick candles (up to 250g) please allow 12 working days for completion of the test and compilation of the reports.  For larger candles (up to 700g) please allow up to 20 working days.  We will email a test report in PDF format outlining the test results once complete.

Costs:  The cost of the test is £110+vat per candle SKU.
