To create a company in the UK, you will need to register with companies house.  The easiest way to do this is to use a formation company (i.e. companiesmadesimple.com), who can register the business on your behalf.  You will also need to register with HMRC for taxes, such as Corporation Tax or VAT, as well as PAYE.  Before registering a company, it is often a good idea (although often skipped step) to check if your domain name is already taken, or the brand name is already trademarked.  The latter can be checked via the Intellectual Property Office (IPO) website.
