The trend
This trend draws inspiration from Scandinavian design's minimalist yet cosy aesthetic to create an inviting atmosphere. In addition to the warm comfort a Hygge Christmas brings, it also promotes a serene, communal sense of relaxation.
Behind the trend
The Danish concept of "hygge," which promotes cosiness and comfortable conviviality, has become globally popular. As people continue to prioritise their well-being and mental health, there is an increasing focus on creating relaxing, comforting environments at home.
What it means for creators
Use soft, soothing colours, favouriting nude hues and combine them with plain, subtly embossed vessels and clean-cut packaging with a unique but luxurious texture to stimulate the tactile senses. Avoid any ornaments to keep a minimalist vibe.

The trend
This trend focuses on all things natural, capturing the essence of winter flora. Think fresh, icy fragrances combined with snowy and woodsy aesthetics to create a crisp, clean atmosphere that will transport you to the wintery great outdoors.
Behind the trend
Sustainability and eco-conscious living are here to stay and as a result, consumers are increasingly interested in natural and organic products. The appeal of botanical scents lies in their ability to provide a fresh, invigorating experience that aligns with environmentally friendly values.
What it means for creators
Start with natural materials like plant waxes, wooden lids, or vegan-friendly diffuser bases. Then add woodland and nature-inspired colours and symbols through etched jars, wax melt embeds, candle pen designs and more. If making wax melts, choose leaf or tree-shaped moulds and add botanicals (botanicals are not suitable for candle making as they can become fire hazards). For your scents, choose essential oils or green and woody fragrance oils that evoke icy forests. Finally, complete the effect with a mushroom sustainable packaging elevated by hand-drawn woodland imagery. You can even tie your parcel with twine and botanicals.

The trend
Think of scents inspired by delicious holiday treats. Now picture the scene around these treats - the cosy warmth of the room, your family all gathered in one spot, the joy and laughter. This emotional tenor is what this theme focuses on.
Behind the trend
The holidays are synonymous with indulgence and feasting. As consumers become more adventurous with their taste preferences, they also seek unique and mouth-watering scents for their homes. This trend allows people to expand the decadence of holiday treats and experience it in new ways.
What it means for creators
Select powerful fragrances that evoke classic Christmas treats (sweet or savoury) and create an inviting cosy vibe with a warm colour scheme and an artisanal look. Favour amber vessels and tins with homely shapes, and avoid ornaments on your product to keep the artisanal vibe. Use aged labels with a handwritten font where you can create a narrative around the treat you are evoking. Finish by packaging your product in simple kraft packaging.
Just remember in the UK and EU, creating products that directly resemble food is prohibited. Read our blog HERE for more information.
