GW 464 is a good quality soy wax produced by global wax giant AAK under the Golden Brands name.

With a melting point of 45-48C, it is a natural replacement for the discontinued CB-135, CB-Advanced and CB-Xcel blends. CL and Stabilo wicks tend to work best in this wax, with a 30cl candle requiring a CL17/CL18 or Stabilo 16/18. This will of course depend on fragrance.

The wax will hold 10%+ of most fragrances, although 7-8% is usually more than enough.

As ever, a warm ambient temperature (20C), warm glassware and the prevention of rapid temperature changes during cooling will reduce the likelihood of polymorphism/frosting.

This wax is prone to circular surface cracking, but this can usually be reduced/eliminated by good temperature control.

Love it!

After battling with c3 for far too long I switched to cb advanced. Then it got discontinued. I was considering giving up with candles, until I found the 464 wax. Fab ct and ht, even without much curing, and I feel it's going to be easier to wick to. I love it!

Excellent hot throw

Coming from a wax (Ecosoy q210) which doesn't have a great HT, this wax is a brilliant step up. I nearly always have a fantastic hot throw from this wax. There tends to be sink holes and an uneven surface sometimes but that is due to the fact i'm not entirely used to this wax yet and haven't learned to master it. I would recommend.

Best wax yet

I've ordered a few different blends and pure soy waxes, and this is the most reliable yet. Used with both cotton and wooden wicks. Some minor surface cracking and the wick, but quickly resolved with a heat gun so it's nice and smooth. Minimal cracking after burning. Best results for me have been heating to 180 and pouring at 130. Great cold scent throw at 8% fragrance, and reasonable hot throw.

Surface trouble

Nice but very difficult to have good surface.

I do like this wax, but it leaves a little frosting so going to try 494 next
